El ciclón Beryl, que avanzó como tormenta tropical el sábado en el Golfo de México, trajo 133 incidentes en distintas carreteras del país, de los cuales 47 ya han sido atendidos, según informó la Secretaría de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes (SICT).
Aunque Beryl tocó tierra el viernes como huracán de categoría 2 en Quintana Roo, las regiones más afectadas incluyen a Yucatán, Chiapas, Hidalgo, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí y Veracruz, detalló la dependencia en un comunicado oficial.
La SICT continúa con labores intensivas de limpieza, remoción de derrumbes y señalización en carreteras federales y caminos rurales afectados por el paso del huracán Beryl, enfatizó el comunicado.
En cuanto a las telecomunicaciones, no se han reportado daños significativos en la infraestructura y los servicios operan con normalidad, salvo algunos cortes de electricidad, según añadió la dependencia.
Hasta las 14:20 horas del sábado, los aeropuertos de Cozumel y Tulum, importantes destinos del Caribe mexicano, permanecían cerrados, según indicó el boletín oficial.
Comienzan las labores de recuperación tras huracán Beryl
«Las labores de recuperación, en las que participan 30 cuadrillas de la SICT con apoyo de maquinaria especializada, han permitido hasta ahora atender 47 de los incidentes registrados en las vías», concluyó el informe oficial.
El país ha estado en alerta ante el impacto de Beryl, el primer huracán de la temporada, destacando como un evento de máxima intensidad en el Atlántico durante esta época del año, según alertó la Organización Meteorológica Mundial (OMM) el martes pasado.
A pesar de que Beryl dejó más de una decena de muertos en su paso por las islas del Caribe tras alcanzar la categoría 5 hace una semana, México ha reportado saldo blanco y daños mínimos en la infraestructura de Quintana Roo, uno de los principales destinos turísticos del país que alberga a Cancún.
Con Beryl siendo el tercer ciclón en impactar México durante esta temporada del Atlántico, precedido por las tormentas Chris y Alberto, que afectaron la región norte del país con consecuencias trágicas, el país continúa con labores de prevención y recuperación ante fenómenos naturales de gran magnitud.
