A pesar de no entregar la fecha, el delantero argentino confesó que la directiva de la U lo contactó tras su salida a fines de 2021.
Joaquín Larrivey sigue en el radar de Universidad de Chile. Luego de su salida del club en diciembre de 2021, el experimentado delantero fue contactado para volver a vestir la camiseta azul. No obstante, las conversaciones no llegaron a buen puerto.
Así lo confesó el propio atacante en los micrófonos de La Magia Azul. Reveló que recibió un llamado desde la dirigencia de la U, pero las negociaciones no prosperaron. Se reservó el derecho y no entregó mayores detalles de la fecha del suceso.
“Sí, hubo un acercamiento, pero no se dio. Te estoy diciendo algo que no sabe nadie. Por cosas del fútbol, no por parte mía, no se terminó dando. Te estoy hablando de no hace mucho. Quedó en nada en ese momento”, comenzó indicando el trasandino.
“Esto no fue hace mucho. Al final no se dio. (…) Obviamente, nos deseamos lo mejor mutuamente. El llamado de la U tiene que ver con mi pasado reciente, por lo que rendí. En 15 días se van a cumplir un año de mi vuelta (a Chile) y llevo 21 goles en Magallanes”, agregó.
“Me llaman porque…”
En dicha línea, el delantero descartó que una vuelta al club sea para que este le rinda tributo. Se siente con la capacidad de representar a Universidad de Chile a su avanzada edad. Para él, sus 39 años pasan a segundo plano si se analiza su historial goleador.
“El promedio está ahí. No es que me quieran hacer un homenaje, me llaman porque mi presente sigue siendo muy bueno. Que me llamen, es motivo de orgullo, pero en el fútbol nunca te regalan nada”, lanzó.

El siguiente partido de la U será contra Municipal Puente Alto por Copa Chile. Se disputará el lunes 17 de junio, desde las 19:00 horas, en el Estadio Nacional.
