Un juez suspendió este viernes el permiso de conducir del cantante Justin Timberlake en el estado de Nueva York por negarse a someter a una prueba de alcoholemia cuando fue detenido el pasado 18 de junio.
En junio, el artista estadounidense fue arrestado y acusado de conducir bajo los efectos del alcohol y de saltarse una señal de tráfico, y salió en libertad la mañana siguiente.

Timberlake salía de un hotel en la lujosa zona de los Hamptons -con unas playas muy apreciadas por los ricos neoyorquinos- cuando se metió en su vehículo BMW y casi de inmediato se saltó una señal de stop (alto) sin siquiera poder mantenerse en su carril.
El músico afirmó que solo había tomado «un martini» antes de que lo detuvieran. Pero, una vez que la policía habló con Timberlake quedó claro que no estaba en condiciones de conducir, según la denuncia.
El cantante, de 43 años, que está de gira por Europa, se presentó de manera telemática desde Bélgica a la audiencia que tuvo lugar en Sag Harbor (este del estado de Nueva York), vestido con un polo de color negro, según NBC.
El juez Carl Irace acusó hoy al abogado del músico, Edward Burke Jr., de hacer comentarios «irresponsables» en la última vista e intentar «envenenar el caso antes de que comience», e incluso amenazó al letrado con una «orden mordaza» si no ceja en su comportamiento.
La próxima visita está programada para el 9 de agosto y Timberlake no está obligado a asistir.
No obstante, habrá otra audiencia el 13 de septiembre a la que es posible que se le pida a Timberlake que asista.
